I wonder what is the name of CG's father. His name was never mentioned in the show or CG tells her crew mates what is her father's name.
I also wonder why he is so overprotective of his daughter.
- His name, like the surnames of the other characters, was never important to the overall plot. He is there to serve two roles. First, he is the adult figure who gets the story going. That is, he tells them where to go and what they must do when they get there, so it doesn't feel like they are jumping around aimlessly from place to place. And second, he serves as a hurdle for C.G.'s personal journey into self-reliance. Basically, she needs to learn to stand-up for her self and her crew so she can take charge in case disaster strikes and they are on their own. Yes, she is not a good leader and tends to be overwhelmed by the dangers and personalities of her crew (Ethan's bravery, Luis' intelligence and Emily's passion), but she can only get better when she overcome challenges and lean how to embrace her crazy crew. For in the end, she will have the tremendous responsibility to help coordinate the relocation of the entire human race to a better era. Ultimately, this is a story about C.G. through her eyes. He is known only as "Father" as that is how she sees him.
- His overprotective nature is quit normal. Fathers are like that when it comes to daughters. More so if her mother died — she would be the only thing he has left of her and would not what to loose her too. His heart is in the right place, but he needs to let go for her sake.
